Orchestra: Cody's Information Report


An orchestra is a group of people playing music. The instrument families are called brass, woodwind, percussion and strings. 

One of the orchestra families is called the string instruments. The string instruments are played by rubbing the bow on the strings and can also be plucked. 

Another family of instruments is called the percussion. They are played by being struck or hit. My favourite one is the snare drum. 

The bassoon is in the woodwind family. Originally all woodwind instruments were made from wood. To play woodwind instruments you have to blow into the mouth piece. 

Lastly there is the brass family they are made of metal. 


When these instruments are played together they make lovely music.

Practice today, Cody beat all comers from Room 2 in the high jump!!! Everyone is after him on athletics day this Thursday!!! Cody cleared 91cm!!!!

The Accident

 One day I going to the shop to get chocolate cake with mum, dad and my sister.
 I saw an ugly old man with a mental stick . He was crossing the road.
 The ugly old man stepped onto the road in front of a car.
 Suddenly the car hit the brakes. The old man said watch where you are going !
Then a tow truck came out of no where. Next there were flames and smoke everywhere!

The old man said that was bad driving.

Numeracy- Addition to 20 using 10 frames

Cody counts on by one to solve addition problems.

Using tens frames is assisting Cody to work out the addition problems in chunks rather than just counting in ones.


  • .  Cody already knows that he should add from the largest number.






Cody's next step- Is to progress from using 10 frames to solve addition problems up to 20, and develop his skills in breaking down additional problems into known facts to solve the problem in his head.

Fierce Dragon

Once upon a time there was a fierce dragon who lived in a large Castle near the pub.

 Each night he  flew down to the pub to have his favourite drink and favourite food for dinner with his girlfriend . He loved Macaroni Cheese because he could melt the cheese with his fire breathing.

After dinner his girlfriend and him played Uno and table tennis until midnight!
